Your journey to becoming a Functional Genomic Expert

What You Will Learn

As a certified practitioner, you will be able to build on your existing clinical expertise and approach your patients' health through the lens of functional genomics. Your patients will appreciate your ability to understand and provide solutions for problems they haven't been able to solve elsewhere.

Learn how gene pathways work in a functional manner to impact 6 important systems of the body:

  1. Hormones: Fat loss, Muscle development, Acne, Hair, Female Hormone Health, Libido
  2. Cardiovascular Health: Cholesterol, Diabetes, Stroke, Hypertension
  3. Diet & Nutrition: Personal diet, Sensitivities, Scheduling, Satisfaction, Eating Behaviors
  4. Mood & Behavior: Addiction, Depression, Anxiety, Stress, PTSD, Focus, Irritability
  5. Inflammation: Immunity, Detox, Mitochondrial Health, Aging, Methylation
  6. Sleep: Stress, Pleasure, Food, Blue Light, Circadian Rhythm

You will understand how genes influence these systems, what sort of health concerns are impacted by these genes, and what recommendations, therapies, and solutions can improve these health concerns. You will be presented with numerous real-life case studies as well as the steps taken to resolve the problems and health concerns within these case studies.

What Is Functional Genomics?

"Genes encode the functions required for your cells, and for you as a whole, to thrive. To intelligently interpret genes, their individual contributions must be understood in the context of the bigger picture – in the context of the myriad of cellular functions required for optimal health.

Single genes do not function in a void, but rather, in cascades of beautifully coordinated sets – multiple genes working together to facilitate the cellular functions in question.

Studying single genes without appreciating how they interact with one another is both incomplete, and often misleading. Functional Genomics is the study of genes as they were meant to be studied, capturing how they work together and how they are influenced by lifestyle, nutrition and environmental choices and challenges.

Functional genomics captures the true treasure trove of knowledge embedded in your genomic make-up and facilitates a nuanced, individualized and actionable approach to optimal health – an actionable approach for you to thrive. "

EXECUTIVE MEDICINE

One of the things that sets the DNA company apart from other companies is that they are pioneers in the field of functional genomics and precision medicine. We use a DNA code with our own clients because I feel like they've done the best job leaders in the field of taking all the minutia and cutting it down to what are the data driven executables that our clients can use in their everyday life.

Lisa Tamati

ULTRA ENDURANCE

I'm a professional ultra endurance athlete from New Zealand and I'm a coach and I'm really, really excited about the reports that I get from the DNA company. The hormone reports in particular have been super beneficial for me personally and the information that we can glean when we understand our genes. I think this is the future of personalized health. I think the information that we're going to be getting is going to help us optimize our health, our longevity and our performance. So really, really excited about what the DNA company is doing in this cutting edge information in technology.

Sachin Patel

LIVING PROOF INSTITUTE

I'm the founder of the Living Institute, and I also coach practitioners in the functional medicine space through my program called Perfect Practice. Many years ago, I started using the DNA company and they've been instrumental in my own personal success and professional success because they continue to innovate and provide us with very powerful tools to help our customers and our patients understand what makes them unique, to help them understand how we can use their own information, their own genetics, to make them a better version of themselves. It's equipped us as clinicians with a powerful tool to get deeper insights into what makes our clients tick, into what makes our clients get the best results possible when working with us.

FUNCTIONAL NUTRITION

I am founder and president of the Functional Nutrition Alliance and the Functional Nutrition Lab, and we put the DNA Company genomic testing to the test. We gave this testing to what we call some ‘big bugs’. These are people with big health issues that have already made big efforts. They've been to many doctors. They've done a load of diet and lifestyle modification. And we wanted to see if there was something more we could learn to help with their clinical journey. And we learned quite a bit about their vitamin D metabolism, about their methylation pathways. This enabled us to better understand their hormone metabolism and how we could best support both of these women of different ages with their different challenges. So we are big fans of the DNA company and the functional genomic testing at the Functional Nutrition Alliance, and we look forward to partnering with the DNA company more in the future.
